Currently, the oVRcome app is only available in English. We are working on expanding the language options to serve a broader audience in the future.
For optimal results, the program recommends 10-20 minutes of VR exposure each day. Clinical trials have shown this frequency can significantly reduce phobic symptoms in just 6 weeks. However, we understand that life may not always allow for consistent daily use, and that’s OK! The key is consistency—do as much as you can, as often as you can, and over time, you’ll start to notice improvements. Remember, it’s a marathon, not a race!
Some users may choose to continue using VRET after noticing improvement in order to maintain their progress or to tackle situations that are difficult to simulate in real life. If you feel this could benefit you, feel free to keep using the app as needed.
While digital interventions like oVRcome can be highly effective and convenient, they are not meant to replace provider-led therapy but rather to complement it. The digital approach offers an accessible, private, and controlled way to engage in exposure therapy. However, for individuals requiring more personalized, intensive support, working with a provider may still be necessary. It’s important to discuss any concerns or progress with your healthcare provider to ensure that you are receiving the best treatment for your needs.
No, there is no cost for Reliant Medical Group and Atrius Health patients referred to the digital intervention. This is a part of your healthcare plan and is provided at no charge to you.
For any app-related inquiries, please reach out to our support team at support@ovrcome.io. One of our team members will get in touch with you as soon as possible to assist with your concerns or issues.
Pick the one that affects your day to day life most and that you can safely practice this week. Use these examples to decide:
• Birds: you avoid parks, outdoor eating, or beach areas because of gulls or pigeons.
• Deep water: you skip pools, lakes, or boats, or feel panicky near piers or deep ends.
• Dogs: you change walking routes, avoid friends with dogs, or freeze when a dog approaches.
• Driving: you avoid motorways, bridges, tunnels, or even being a passenger on busy roads.
• Enclosed spaces: lifts, small rooms, crowded buses, or MRI machines trigger “I need to get out.”
• Flying: anxiety rises when booking, boarding, takeoff, or thinking about turbulence.
• Heights: balconies, ladders, escalators, or glass lifts make you grip or avoid altogether.
• Insects: wasps, cockroaches, or moths make you avoid bins, sheds, or summer events.
• Mice and rats: you avoid basements, alleys, bins, or public transport where you might see them.
• Needles: you delay blood tests, vaccines, or dentist injections, or faint around medical talk.
• Public speaking: meetings, classes, or even small group updates cause dread or avoidance.
• Spiders: you avoid garages, camping, or cleaning corners because you might see one.
• Vomit (emetophobia): strong fear of feeling sick or seeing others sick, rigid food or travel rules.
