Take away the fear of needles
Needle Distraction is a virtual reality smartphone app. It's designed for doctors, pharmacists, and dentists who want to offer their patients a way to get an injection with less anxiety.
How it works
Your patient sees the Needle Distraction poster in the waiting room
They download the free app to their smartphone
They select a calming virtual reality scene
Your patient asks at reception for the headset
They place their smartphone into headset
They wear the headset before injection
The VR scene plays while injection takes place
The headset is handed back to reception once the procedure is complete
Let your patients experience some of New Zealand's most amazing environments virtually with the Needle Distraction app

"We are very pleased oVRcome approached us to pilot the Distraction app.
My patients feel relaxed and less anxious before and during some procedures like injections or minor surgeries.
This is a great example of how Virtual reality intersects with medicine and we are pleased to be the first clinic in New Zealand to embrace this technology in General Practice."
