Starting an In-clinic Live Session

Please Note:

If you’ve just bought a headset to use with oVRcome, you’ll need to set it up first. This setup is separate from our platform, so please contact the headset manufacturer if you need help. Think of a Meta Quest or Pico 4 like a new phone - it must be set up before use.
oVRcome support can assist with our app setup, but not the headset setup.

Set up oVRcome through your Meta Quest headset.

Prepare for your VR session with your client

1. Open the VR site on your headset

Put on your Meta Quest headset, open the browser, and go to vr.ovrcome.io.

⚠️ Do not use app.ovrcome.io on the headset - that link is only for the Clinician Portal on your computer.

2. Log in

If not already logged in, you’ll be prompted to enter your credentials. Use your registered email address.

If logging in for the first time, remove the headset and check your inbox to verify your email.

3. Enter the lobby

Once verified, put the headset back on. You’ll now be logged into oVRcome VR, with the waterfall screen as your default lobby.

Use the controller to select VR at the bottom right hand corner and enter the 360° environment. The headset is now ready for the client’s live session to be started.

Connect to the client's live session from your computer.

From here, the clinician runs the session from the Portal while the client views it in VR.

1. Select your client

In the Clinician Portal (app.ovrcome.io on your desktop), choose the client you want to connect with.

2. Connect to the headset

On the client’s overview page, click Connect under the Meta Quest headset option.

3. Review connection instructions

The Connect button opens a page with full instructions for pairing the headset and starting a live session. At this stage, make sure you’re logged into vr.ovrcome.io on the headset, seeing the waterfall scene, and ready to begin.

4. If the Live Session button is inactive

A greyed-out purple Live Session button means a setup step is missing. Review the checklist to see what still needs to be completed.

9. Wait in the lobby

Your client will remain in the waterfall scene until you begin the exposure. Once connected, you’ll control the session from your computer.

10. Begin exposure

To start exposure, select any of the videos in the client's hierarchy on the right hand side and click on it. Or to play the first video available, click on the 'next' button as indicated

11. Stream to the headset

Whatever you select in the Portal will play directly in your client’s headset.
